A Message from Our Head of School

For more than 45 years, DKH Academy has created a nurturing, play-based environment where children are known, supported, and encouraged to grow with confidence. Hear from Head of School Nancy Parra about the heart behind our school community and what makes DKH such a special place for families.

At DKH Academy, we believe childhood should feel joyful, meaningful, and deeply connected.

Children learn best when they feel known, supported, and inspired. That belief shapes everything we do. From the classroom to the playground, every part of the day is designed to help children grow with confidence and curiosity.

Our program is rooted in play-based learning, guided by experienced teachers who understand how children develop. Through hands-on experiences, meaningful relationships, and time spent outdoors, children build the skills they need for school and for life.

More than half of our campus is outdoor space. You will often find classes learning on our Nature Explore Playground, where lessons extend beyond the classroom walls. Children observe, create, collaborate, and engage with the world around them in ways that feel natural and exciting.

We focus on the whole child. Social, emotional, physical, and academic growth are all part of the experience here. Children are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and develop a genuine love of learning.
