Welcome to DKH Academy!

At DKH, we believe childhood is a time of wonder, discovery, and joyful learning. As the only school in Denton County accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and a Cognia-accredited private school, we are deeply committed to providing a high-quality early childhood education rooted in research-based, play-centered learning experiences that nurture the whole child.

Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that young children learn best through meaningful relationships, hands-on exploration, and purposeful play. In our classrooms, children are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, express creativity, and develop confidence in their own unique voice. Our exceptional educators thoughtfully create learning environments that build upon each child’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs while fostering curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

At DKH Academy, play is not simply recreation, it is the foundation for intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth. Whether children are collaborating with peers, exploring literacy and math concepts, engaging in imaginative play, or discovering the natural world outdoors, every experience is designed with intention and care.

Our commitment to learning extends beyond the classroom walls. Each day, children engage in inquiry and exploration on our certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom, the first in Texas, where outdoor learning inspires creativity, movement, problem-solving, and a deep connection with nature.

To provide a truly well-rounded educational experience, DKH Academy also offers enriching opportunities including Fine Arts, Spanish Immersion, Kid Fit, Guided Reading, community programs, field trips, and more, all thoughtfully designed to deepen learning and support every area of child development.

Most importantly, we believe early childhood education is a partnership. We are honored to walk alongside families during these formative years and are deeply committed to supporting not only each child, but the entire family.
