Teacher of the Year | Laura Hudson

Teacher of the Year | Laura Hudson

At our final staff meeting of the school year, DKH Academy proudly honored Laura Hudson as this year’s Teacher of the Year recipient.

This annual award recognizes a teacher who demonstrates exceptional dedication, care, leadership, and impact within the DKH community. For those who know Mrs. Hudson, this year’s recognition felt especially meaningful.

Mrs. Hudson first joined DKH Academy nine years ago as an assistant teacher before becoming a lead teacher. Over the years, she has become deeply loved by students, families, and colleagues for her creativity, compassion, patience, and nurturing spirit.

Her classrooms have always reflected the heart of DKH. Warm, welcoming environments where children feel safe, known, encouraged, and excited to learn.

Mrs. Hudson is known for creating meaningful classroom experiences filled with imagination, creativity, laughter, and connection. Through her thoughtful approach and genuine love for children, she has helped shape the early childhood experience of countless DKH students and families.

This celebration was especially bittersweet as Mrs. Hudson prepares to retire at the end of the school year. Friends, family members, former DKH teachers, and colleagues gathered together during the staff meeting to celebrate her well-deserved recognition and the lasting impact she has made on the DKH community.

While we will miss her deeply, we are incredibly grateful for the years she devoted to DKH Academy and for the care, encouragement, and joy she brought to so many children throughout her time here.

Congratulations, Mrs. Hudson, and thank you for the difference you have made in the lives of so many families.

Good beginnings never end.
