Lunch & LBBO

Lunch at DKH Academy is about more than eating. It’s a time for conversation, independence, friendship, and community.

Students bring lunches from home each day, and throughout the year families also have the option to participate in LBBO, our popular hot lunch program. If you'd like to participate in LBBO this year, fill out the sign-up form below and return to the DKH front office.

Bringing Lunch From Home

Each child brings a nutritious lunch from home each school day. Families are encouraged to send food that is easy for children to manage independently and does not require heating.

To help support a safe environment for all students, some classrooms may be designated nut free based on student allergies. Teachers will communicate any classroom-specific guidelines with families directly.

Students should also bring:

  • a labeled water bottle
  • a healthy snack, as directed by their classroom teacher

Snack time is an important social part of the school day and classroom-specific snack procedures will be shared during parent orientation.

LBBO

LBBO stands for Lunchbox Burnout, a long-standing DKH tradition created to give families a break from packing lunches throughout the week.

Offered up to four days a month during much of the school year, LBBO gives families the option to purchase hot lunches including student favorites like pizza and Chick-fil-A.

For many students, LBBO days are some of the most anticipated days of the month.

Outdoor Lunches

With more than 50% of campus outdoors, many students enjoy meals and snack time outside throughout the school year.
