KidFit
At DKH Academy, we believe movement is an important part of childhood.
Children learn through active play, hands-on experiences, exploration, and time spent outdoors. Running, climbing, balancing, throwing, dancing, and working together all help build confidence, coordination, resilience, and healthy habits that support the whole child.
With more than half of our campus outdoors, students have daily opportunities to move their bodies, strengthen social connections, and develop a lifelong relationship with physical activity and wellness in ways that feel joyful, natural, and age-appropriate.
KidFit is a beloved part of life at DKH Academy and something students eagerly look forward to each week. Led by Mrs. Goff, KidFit brings children together through movement, games, outdoor activities, obstacle courses, relays, and age-appropriate physical challenges that keep students active, engaged, and having fun.
More than simply getting children outside and moving, KidFit helps students build confidence, coordination, teamwork, listening skills, perseverance, and healthy habits from an early age. Children learn to encourage one another, work together, follow directions, and challenge themselves in a positive and supportive environment. It is also a joyful opportunity for students and teachers to laugh, move, and connect together as a school community.
One of the highlights of the year is DKH Field Day, a long-standing tradition for Pre-K 4 and older students. Filled with team activities, games, movement stations, school spirit, and plenty of cheering, Field Day celebrates active childhood, teamwork, and the simple joy of being together outdoors.
